P-e-r-k App Tips

PERK ALERTS


10/15/2015 - Several peoples rewards are getting cancelled. You may receive an email referencing "fraud detection". Please take the following steps until this wide spread issue is cleared up and we know exactly whats happening:
  • reduce the number of devices you are running to less than 5 per app
  • email them back with a copy of your ID with address matching that on your account, and tell then exactly how many devices on each app you are now running
  • make sure you have sent in your tax form if they requested it

 If your perk account gets shut down or your rewards cancelled, all they want you to do is send in a copy of your ID.  
  •   They are not going to ask you for it, they simply cancel your rewards or notify you that your account has been banned.
  • Blacken out your info other than your photo, name and address and email it to them. support@perk.com Your address on account should match your ID
  • You may need to email them several times. Replies to their emails just get pushed to the bottom, so we recommend sending a new email and reference any previous ticket numbers in it. 
  • Just send the info!! 

EARN FASTER ON YOUR DEVICES
 
  • We recommend you do NOT use personal devices for running apps. These apps are collecting more and more personal information about you, invest in inexpensive phones or tablets that you do not access personal info on, androids are less expensive and easier to manage.
  • You may find that some ads will run better if your phone is portrait view (the long way up and down), or it may not make a difference at all. You should try both ways and see what works best for you. You can also disable the auto-rotate in your settings if you like.
  • Disable or uninstall any bloatware apps that came installed on your device. Clear their cache too.
  • Disable or set sleep mode to 'always on'. This will prevent the device from stopping the app from running constantly. You can do this from settings > display, or settings > about phone and google how to get developer options, then select 'always on'
  • Lower the screen brightness, this will save some battery life.
  • Disable the sync
  • If you have it, set device to airplane mode, wifi only
  •  Leave the location setting on, Perk requires this
  • Clear app cache often, this will help the videos load faster, you may want to do this each time you reset back to App Trailers section. (every 2 hours or less)  Learn how to clear app cache, please read --> http://www.sbforumz.com/t538-clearing-cache-and-data-on-mobile-devices#970
  • You should restart your phones at least once a week or more. This will clean out the RAM cache in case any apps have memory leaks.
  • Clear app data or uninstall and re-install the app every couple days. Do it when you cash out so you remember. 
  • If your devices seem to freeze on a loading screen, clear app cache and re-start your device.
  • If you are running multiple devices, be sure to stagger the videos so the same game or video is not playing on all devices.
  • From user Stupidness - "Troubleshooting protocol (if you have issues)  is try in order 1) restart app 2) clear cache 3) clear data 4) reboot and 5) remove/reinstall app"
  • New tip 8/16/16 - from  user forepaugh - If you continue to get bad ads, you can try this temporary fix: Reset your google ad id on the device that is having problems. You can find instructions how to do this HERE

P-e-r-k General Info - PLEASE READ




Perk is another earning site similar to Swagbucks. 
They have several apps and many of the same earning opportunities as swagbucks on their Perk.com site.

 PERK ALERTS

GET STARTED - ACCOUNTS

  • The first thing you want to do is make an account at http://perk.com/ on your pc. You must use real info making a perk account!
  • There is no restriction about the number of accounts per household. However you must have a different phone number to verify each account every time you cash out. YES, every time you cash out you must do a phone verify. You can use pinger numbers for this.
  • To verify account you need to confirm email and to verify orders you need to receive either an automate phone call, which you must answer, or a SMS text message with a code.
  • If you make 2 accounts remember to use the name of someone else in your household, email, and phone number.
  • Perk has been cracking down on users with multiple accounts per household. If you have multiple accounts, and your rewards are ever cancelled, email perk at support@perk.com from your account email, and be prepared to send them a copy of ID (license, state ID card, etc) for each person with an account in your household. You may be able to get your accounts back and awards processed or refunded. ***When you send ID, black out all information EXCEPT name, address, and photo. 
  • ****If your perk account gets shut down, or your reward cancelled, all they want you to do is send in a copy of your ID.  Blacken out your info other than your name and address and email it to them.  They are not going to ask you for it nor will they answer the emails you send when your acct is shut!  Just send the info!!

PERK.COM
  • You can do offers and watch videos on their pc site.
  • ****  PERK OFFER WARNING - If you do offers on perk, you MUST use real info! This means the name, address, any profile information you signed up with must match what you fill in for offers. Different emails are fine and recommended for offers. Do not do offers that require all info unless you are using YOUR REAL information. **They will ban for fake info on offers.** 
  • We suggest you do the RO 16 pt videos, as the pay higher than most sites and only email submit offers. Dont bother with the search, its worthless and doesnt pay.
  • You do not need the perk browser to complete offers, just go to http://perk.com/ on your pc.

TAXES AND INACTIVITY

  • Perk will send you an email asking you to fill out tax form, They withhold your cashout until you send it in.
  • From Perk Terms of Use http://perk.com/perkstatic/terms
    • #22 Accounts that have not earned a Perk Point or Perk Token within 30 days or more are deemed inactive. Perk Points and Perk Tokens previously earned in these inactive accounts will be considered null and void.
    • #23 Perk accounts that have earned over $600 in a calendar year are required by US law to fill out a 1099. Perk will notify users via the email address user has on file and it is then up to user to complete all obligations with respect to US Government. User gives up all claims against Perk regarding any tax related claims.
CASHING OUT

  • Perk resets at midnight central time.
  • Payouts for Perk are Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. If you order your reward before midnight on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays you will get paid the next day, unless they have some glitch or issues, or if there are issues with your account
  • We recommend you follow the same rule as any other site, CASH OUT EARLY AND OFTEN. Just like SB, do not save your points, cash out $25 or less. 
  • When you cash out you will need to provide a phone number you can receive a call or SMS text message. They will give you a code to enter to verify your cash out, you need to do theis every time. (Pinger numbers work just fine)

PERK CODES AND TOKENS

As of September 2015 Perk has introduced https://perk.tv/home that can be run on your PC's web browser, or on a mobile device's web browser. This is very similar to the PerkTV app, credit randomly the same way, and most of our recommendations as to what categories to run apply. Most people had success running Perk.tv on Firefox, but try different browsers and use the one that work best for you.
   
  • We dont recommend you try to run more than one https://perk.tv/home per computer or device.
  • These videos may run in the background, similar to how we run SB nCraves. Make sure they are advancing before you walk away. 
  • You will get a craptcha "Are you still watching?" every 20 minutes, check the box and answer the question.  
  • Since this is still fairly new, be sure these are crediting, and be sure you remain logged in, some people had issues.

VIGGLE

  • Since this is still fairly new, be sure these are crediting, and be sure you remain logged in, some people had issues.

P-e-r-k Other Interactive Apps

PERK WALLET

This app can be used to cash out your points, there are also some discounts on giftcards on this app. If you are ever unable to cash out on PC, or perk.com seems funky, this app is the way to go.

 Perk Wallet also has some 2 point videos you want watch, they credit on a 10  minute delay. Be sure you are getting credit for watching them, there is no notification that you have reached a daily cap, and we do not know what that cap is. You can play these videos on multiple devices if you like.

P-e-r-k Passive Earning Apps

 The following are all passive earning apps you let run and let earn from you, not interaction is required except to reset them.

 PERK TV

Perk tv app will run ads and videos, similar to the swagbucks apps.

At certain times you will be able to earn for every video, even more than you were before. Videos now credit random points per video, at times they may not credit at all. Generally they credit 1 point.

 TIPS

  • Click the TV logo top left to slide out the menu, scroll down and check the box for 'Low Bandwidth'
  • Run the section Popular Videos, and scroll down to the App Trailers category, when done it will either run another App Trailers or Movie Clips, these are the fastest videos.
  • Occasionally clear app data, uninstall, then reinstall this app, you may get a longer length of time from App trailers.
  • Reset your device every hour or two back to Popular Videos/App Trailers, you will earn faster here than when it starts running Movie Clips
  • Are you watching? Just hit yes, then reset back to app trailers
  • If the app freezes on an ad or just wont load, go to settings, turn the device wifi off, clear  app cache, turn the device wifi on, and proceed as usual

POP QUIZ

 Perk Pop Quiz app will run trivia questions by itself. The app will run for a while, until the category you have chosen runs out of questions. New questions are added periodically. 

Pop Quiz pays 1 point per round in lightning mode when you just let it run. You can earn 2 points per round if you interact with the app by tapping answers. You can earn extra points for correct answers, up to 5 points per round. 

TIPS

  • Click the logo top left to slide out the menu, scroll down and select 'Lightning mode', leave all other options as is, this will make the games credit faster
  • If the app freezes on an ad or just wont load, go to settings, turn the device wifi off, clear app cache, turn the device wifi on, and proceed as usual

WORD SEARCH (Blue)

This auto-running app gives 1 point per search game if you do not interact, and the specified amount only if you win, no partial wins.  This app should run for a long time without needing reset .

 As of 9/8/2015 version 2.1.4 will randomly not credit for a game here and there, and you will see a sad face. This will happen on all quick play games, 1 word is still the best option.

TIPS
  • As of 1/2016 select Quick Play, and 2 word, it will play an ad, then a game and credit 1 point
  • If the timer freezes at :01 click the pause button top left, quit, and start again
  • If the app freezes at 'Game starting in:', on an ad,  or just wont load, go to settings, turn the device wifi off, clear  app cache, turn the device wifi on, and proceed as usual

LIVE  TV

This app will detect when the show you are watching on television has a commercial break, or you can tap the throbbing red button to launch ads. If you want it to just auto run, you will need to be sure your phone has a good microphone, the TV is loud, and you have entered the show you are actually watching. Each ad pays 3 points. You can also tweet and earn 10 points per tweet.

JETPACK JOURNEY

You must have a Perk account with an already established Facebook login, there is no was around this at this time. Log in and tap 'start'. It will play a game, then run an ad, you will then earn 1 point, It will start a new game automatically. You will get a pop up to keep playing every hour or so.

CARD MATCH

 Click the perk logo and log in to your perk account, then click the X top right to bring you to the game. If the app takes you directly into a game, press the back button.  Play Level 1 (theres only 2 matches/4 cards) then let it run, it may refresh that level one or more times, but leave it be. You will be credited 2 points per ad. It should then repeat level 2 and the ad sets.

Swag-Ups

Swag-Up's - There are two types of Swag-ups - Rebates on giftcards and bonuses paid at a later date. 


Rebates  - You receive the rebate in your ledger after you redeem in the rewards store during the valid dates below. 

Bonuses - Any Swag-up bonus you earn is paid at a later date, usually specified during the corresponding activity.
